Touching Prompt 22. falling asleep on the other’s shoulder

Jake was exhausted but couldn't sleep yet. He'd had a week off and barely left the house, once for booze and groceries. It had been his first week off since meeting Niko, a week where they were shooting parts of the film that didn't require his skills. He indulged. Overindulged for the deep soreness in his muscles and the ache from all the scratches and bites and the hangover threatening to start.

The thoughts had him snuggling closer to the warm, naked body beside him. Niko groaned in his sleep, equally achey from their non-stop boozing and sex. Jake had never had anyone stay despite being in the apartment for nearly six years now, and it felt good. His lover felt good... in the bath, against the kitchen counter, on the couch... they'd even passed out on the floor in the living room only to wake up a few hours later ravenous for each other. Jake couldn't resist. Everytime he saw the guitarist he wanted the younger man and Niko encouraged him. The ass grabbing, pinching and rogue bites did nothing to dissuade the American.

“You're hot.” Jake whispered when he felt Niko rolling over to face him.

“So are you.” Niko mumbled in return before burying his face against Jake's chest to fall back asleep.

The dark haired Finn was perfect and Jake pushed his hair back before settling in against him. Thier bodies were soon wrapped up, a tangle of arms and legs, the way they had always slept together since the first night on the couch in Niko's room. If Jake was honest with himself, he found the way they slept together arousing, especially here, in his coffin. Niko finally got over his fears of that too.

He was perfect. Jake kept thinking it as he was fading into sleep. Days of erotic touch at all hours of the day and night, constant and uncontrollable. Behind closed doors they couldn't keep their hands to themselves. A touch or a bite and they'd both be pulling off clothes for more. Even when the touch wasn't a request for sex, Jake still found himself hard and wanting. Niko made him feel feral and animalistic. All he'd wanted for the past week was to nest up in his apartment and wallow in food, sex and sleep.

Laying in the dark, Jake was aware of everything. The silk under and over his skin. The softer parts of Niko's naked skin against his, and the slight roughness to the thicker hair on his legs. The sound of his breathing slowing as he fell asleep and the pleased, sleepy groan as Jake ran his hands over the guitarist's back and thigh. The coffin didn't smell so much of Jake's cologne and leather as it had. Now there's Niko's shampoo and the distinct smell of sweat and sex.

Jake couldn't believe he'd been upset the week before because Niko had called the American his boyfriend in front of others. It all felt ridiculous now. Jake was mad about the Finnish guitarist. Everything about the man was just what Jake wanted.

The American drifted off but was woke up a couple hours later to noise. The noise on the street and the apartment above was too much. Jake reached up to pull the coffin shut to muffle the sound. He flipped the switch to turn on the small fan that helped circulate the air in the coffin, a necessity so no one got ill. Soon Jake was nestled against Niko again and falling fast asleep with Niko's head on his shoulder.

Heikki couldn't help but laugh a little and shake his head. Yes, he was worried where the fuck his brother had gotten to but he was happy that Niko had found a boyfriend. An American movie prop designer who had a vampire fetish. Of course he had found Jake.

"I am glad Niko has found your brother and not some waster junkie out here in LA."

Too many times had Niko found a boozer, drug addict who had no prospects of a job. Being a rock star this was bound to happen with the circle of friends he had back home. Heikki was glad he found someone who had a job and wasn't about to abuse or take advantage of his boyish, caring nature.

Lex headed out to the car shaking his head. "Oh my brother is a junkie... for sex and blood."

Lex loved his brother dearly and trusted him to make good choices. He wouldn't even drive after a drink or two. Lex got into the car. Lex did text down to the movie set though to see if his brother was there. It would cut down on the stops they had to make.

"A junkie for sex and----blood? Ah, the vampire part."

Heikki just rolled his eyes at that because he assumed Lex was talking about all the fake blood the man used on set. Jake didn't actually drink real blood of course. He was a living, breathing man just like everyone else. Niko wouldn't go to bed with a real vampire demon---no, that was stupid.

"Where do you reckon he might be?"

Lex laughed as Heikki joined him in the car. "You haven't seen the bites?"

How could have missed those? Maybe he really hadn't seen Niko in awhile.

"Well, he's off tonight so either home or Jerry's." Lex mentioned as he pulled away to start driving. "This time of the morning, I'll stop at the apartment first."

It wasn't far to Jake's from the apartments so the Finn could calm down.

"Bites? No, I don't think I have."

Maybe in passing? Heikki hadn't seen his brother for a while and when he did manage to catch him, Niko was always running about playing his guitar, jumping, exercising or getting drunk. The boy never stood still long enough for Heikki to see these bites.

"We can check the apartment first."

Jerry's was another safe place for band members and Heikki often frequented the bar with Sam because it was somewhere everyone could be themselves. That, and Jorgen was glued to the bar or Jerry himself.

"Your brother's a little pincushion."

Lex is amused by it all. The older Finn was so worried over nothing as far as the American was concerned.

"You know, when my dad used to be like this with Jake he was like this, disappeared for days." Lex shrugged and turned down and into the apartment driveway. Lex saw Jake's bike in the back so they were either here or out with someone else.

"A pincushion? I really need to look at these bites you are telling me about."

Heikki would hold Niko still if he had to just so he could see these vampire bite marks Lex was saying about. Fuck, Niko, what have you gotten yourself into? The Finn knew he might be overthinking things and worrying over nothing but he didn't care. He had to see Niko.

"Jake's bike. Maybe they are both here."

Lex shook his head. "You don't think my brother wears those only for a fashion statement?"

Lex pulled up the car and got out. He assumed they were upstairs. He headed for the front security door of the place. There were four apartments in the place and Jake's was one on the first floor. "Or out with friends, gone for a walk."

"I know of his teeth but didn't know he actually used them like a real vampire on my brother. Fuck knows what they get up to."

Heikki shrugged and wasn't about to ask since that was Niko's personal business with Jake. If his baby brother enjoyed getting bitten during sex then who was he to deny him that pleasure?

"True, there is that."

"Sexual biting?" Lex figured that was one of his brother's things and it wasn't harmful so who cared.

Lex headed inside the hall and went down to Jake's door, knocked a few times and didn't get a response. Either they were sleeping or out. Lex unlocked the door and went inside. There's clothes, booze bottles, and empty take out containers around. That made sense. They were probably just hanging around the apartment and eating in a lot.

He didn't see Jake anywhere or Niko bit the bedroom door was closed. Maybe they were sleeping.

Jake was inside the coffin, still closed, and oblivious to the fact anyone else was in the place.

This was the first time Heikki had actually visited Jake's apartment and just assumed the guy lived a normal life in an LA apartment just like anyone else. But, once he stepped inside and noticed the decor, Heikki's eyes went wide.

"Oh fuck. All this vampire-themed stuff he has. Your brother is really into his gothic stuff, isn't he?"

The Finn couldn't believe how different the apartment looked on the inside compared to the outside. Where the hell was Niko? Probably asleep in Jake's bed.

"My brother is probably snoring his head off in Jake's bed."

Lex just motioned to the art table in the living room. "It's what he does. You wouldn't get wide eyed over a bunch of guitars if he was a guitarist."

Lex saw it the same way. This was what Jake was into, had been since he was about 12. Lex looked up from where he was taking in a new painting that Jake was working on, some background it looked like.

"He might be." Lex headed to the bedroom and quietly opened the door. He noticed the coffin was closed which was unusual. Maybe they weren't here? Or, maybe Niko had more kinks than Lex assumed at first.

Heikki thought on Lex's words and then nodded in agreement. The man was right; he would get wide-eyed over lots of bass guitars all around in different shapes, sizes and designs. Jake just loved his vampire stuff so why not?

"You're right. It's like me and my bass guitars with my sayings written on them. That, or a room full of ice hockey memorabilia."

The Finn followed Lex into Jake's bedroom and noticed no bed was there. Oh? Then where did they sleep? It was then Heikki spotted the closed coffin on the floor with the lid closed.

"That coffin seems bigger than a usual sized one. Does Jake collect coffins too?"

Lex raised a finger to his lips to tell the Finn to be quiet before he crossed the room.

"No." Lex opened the coffin slowly, from the foot end so he didn't get hit if someone was startled. "He sleeps in it."

Lex opened the lid and sure enough, there was his brother and Niko. They were all snuggled up, barely covered with blankets. Bites all over Niko and blood but who knew if it was real or fake. They both had some bruises too. this looked normal to Lex.

Heikki nodded and made sure to be quiet and then did a double take when Lex said the man slept inside it. He actually slept inside like a real fucking vampire. Count Dracula or something. Oh gods---was Niko in there with him?

"He---oh."

The Finn slowly peered behind Lex's shoulder to gaze into the opened coffin, noticing Niko snuggled up with Jake, which was pretty cute, but then the blood---that had Heikki frowning slightly. Was that---real? Who knew. But, Niko was safe and with Jake inside the coffin.

"They sleep in this?"

Lex watched Jake sleepily pull the blanket over them and pull in closer. He was probably cold now.

"He's never had a bed here." Lex shrugged but he's glad that Heikki managed to stay quiet. He did hear Jake grumbling or maybe he was growling. It was hard to say but obviously opening the coffin had disturbed him though not enough to wake him up yet.

Heikki thought it was cute and a little surreal in many ways to see his baby brother curled up naked with a man who lived as a vampire. That, and they both slept inside of a coffin instead of a real bed.

"I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that your brother sleeps in a coffin."

The growling had Heikki raise a brow because he didn't know if that was normal for the man or not.

Lex stepped away from the coffin. "He's always wanted one."

Lex remembered his dad hearing his 11 year old kid ask for a coffin for Christmas. He almost laughed but managed to stifle it. There were a lot of bites on Niko's legs which told Lex they had been having a lot of 'fun'.

"Satisfied?"

"I suppose someone who's wanting to live like a real vampire should have the right accessories and furniture."

Heikki nodded and thought it a bit odd but then he wasn't judging at all because this man was Niko's boyfriend and Lex's brother. He wouldn't disrespect Jake like that at all. The bites on his brother's legs told Heikki a story or two what the two men had been up to.

"To be honest I'm really surprised at how detailed Jake's apartment is with all the gothic and vampire stuff. It's---"

The Finn felt a tickle up his nose from some dust in the room and couldn't help but sneeze loudly suddenly. Oh fuck---

"He might not seem like it but Jake's a lot like Davy." Lex had noticed and meant more like him in the sort of prissy, precise way he had to have everything.

The sneeze startled Lex but not as much as Jake springing up out of the coffin, naked, with a knife in hand. Lex stumbled back because he wasn't even prepared for this. This was more vampire than he had even seen with how fast Jake was up on his feet.

"What the fuck?" Jake was startled but he saw who it was and slowly relaxed. He's heaving from the startle, blood around his mouth, hair a mess.

Heikki wasn't prepared for Jake to leap out of the coffin, weilding a knife no less and covered in blood. Fuck! Stumbling backwards, the Finn nearly fell, grabbing onto Lex in the process.

"Voi vittu! Mitä!---"

What the fuck? Heikki hadn't meant to sneeze and alarm Jake or anyone else. Oh gods. The Finn's heart now hammering inside his chest as he let go of Lex and apologised.

"Sorry---I sneezed."

Once Lex caught the older Finn he started to laugh. Laughing so hard he snorted and it hurt his sides almost immediately.

Jake was looking between the two of them and then scowled. "What the hell are you doing here?"

When his eyes landed on Heikki he felt a little angry, like his privacy had been invaded. "So you still don't trust me? You can get the fuck out."

Heikki wasn't laughing but he could see Lex finding this whole thing hilarious. It was in a way but at the same time Jake was now pissed off at finding them in his room. Uninvited and looking over them in his privacy. It was understandable.

"We came to see my brother because he's not been back for over a week. I can see he's fine and I don't need to worry anymore. No, I do trust you, Jake. It's more---I just wanted to see my brother. That is all."

The Finn could see Niko sitting up in the coffin, sleepy but now waving to Heikki before grinning and giving his brother the middle finger. Of course. Sighing, Heikki realised he had intruded on Jake and started to walk out of the room, not wanting to cause anymore shit.

"Don't you know what a fucking phone is?" Jake's just upset over the invasion but mostly the startle of being woken up out of nowhere with unexpected people staring down at him while he slept.

Lex saw Heikki starting to try and leave and he grabbed him and spun him back around. "You should apologize."

Sure, Lex had let this happen but he knew better than to let his brother stew without an apology. That would make things get snotty and mean, maybe.

Heikki felt himself get pulled back and spun around causing the tall Finn to frown. Of course it was Lex asking him to apologise as he should. This whole thing shouldn't have happened this way.

"You're right, I'm sorry for being a fucking idiot and not using the phone."

The bassist shoved his hands into his jeans pockets as Niko snatched some pants from beside the coffin and wiggled into them as he went to punch his brother in the chest playfully. He did miss having him grouch and be a grumpy brother around him because he'd been too wrapped up with spending time with Jake.

"Niko?"

Niko then went to hug Jake and kiss him on the cheek to help calm the man down.
